It’s been quiet around here in these parts lately, I know, but it’s the calm before the storm (the good kind that spreads seeds and cleans the gunk off the streets). Watching What We Eat is officially available on Amazon.com now and should start showing up in your local bookstores in the next couple of weeks. The world tour begins in the humble borough of Brooklyn this Tuesday.

And as usual, there’s rarely a week without a news story or two about the virile cooking show genre. Here’s another voice from the populace pointing out the reality gap between TV shows and real daily life. The New York Times‘ Jodi Rudoren imagines some Top Chef-esque quickfire and elimination challenges that could be executed at home if not broadcast on “Top Chef: Home Cooks.”
